The U.S. Court Soccer Federation Assembled its first national team at a training camp March 17 in New York City in preparation for AMF World Cup qualifying. It was the first three to help finalize the roster for the Qualifying Tournament May 21-27.

The City of Tampa Park and Recreation Department decided to include Court
Soccer training and playing in their programs. 9-15-04

The US Court Soccer Federation’s Coaching Director Luciano”El Profe “ Fernandez
assisted by the Vice President and event coordinator of the USCSF, Philip Tecla
gave an introduction clinic which was very well received by the city coaches and
super visors.
It was a lot fun for both parties and the point was made clearly that Court
Soccer is a sport to be played in the future in the City centers.

Goals and balls were ordered right away and the ball started to roll that same
weekend.

>The US Court Soccer Federation committed to the city to give free clinics to
the coaches and kids of all the parks with a basket ball facility until the
coaches are ready to handle the game, and instruct by themselves.

We are struggling a little with the time schedules, because of the very great
and busy program the parks and recreation department has.

For the time being we have  facilities every Friday nights and Saturday nights to play and practice.

A total of 50 Coaches employees of the City and Park Depatymnt in Tampa Florida attended the Futsal clinic given by the US COURT SOCCER FEDERATION.

Tampa,Florida August 1,2004

Tampa Soccer & Futsal Academy member of the US Court Soccer Federation affiliate and representative of the Asociacion Mundial e Futsal or World Futsal Association in the USA with their headquarters in Tampa Florida did a great job in the Mundialito de Futsal for age group 1992 in Quito Ecuador.
We must give Sr. Patricio Ortiz, President of Asociacion Mundial de Futsal (AMF) in Ecuador and organizer of the 1st World cup for the boys of the 1992 age group, a lot of credit for the great job he has done from the 19th -25th of July, 2004.
19 teams from all over the world got together to compete for the Title of the World Cup for Clubs for boys born in 1992 or after.
The opening ceremony was out of this world and all the participants from Argentina, Australia, Russia, Chile, Venezuela, Ecuador, and the USA felt like champions walking onto the court. Each country was led by the most beautiful Ecuadorian girls, of the same age group. Representatives of the AMF from several countries were there along with the highest ranked officials from the army, navy and air force of Ecuador who represented the President of Ecuador. The President of The World Futsal Association, Doctor Alarcon, flew in from Paraguay to greet all the sportsmen from all over the world. It was a great and hard competiton and the winners were crowned with the title of "Campiones 2004 del Futsal de
Salon por edad 1992." The honor fell to the Ecuadorian team, Eucaliptos, who beat the Ecuadorian team, Graficas Corona, in the finals. Both teams played well, but Eucaliptos, having played with the same players and same trainers for six years, were superior. The USA team did a good job but could not get any farther than winning from Chile and Australia in a
seperate tournament organized for the visitors from abroad.
With a record of 2 wins and 3 losses. "I think we did quite well for a team that practiced only 10 times total and two times with the whole team together," said Philip Tecla, Coordinator of the USA representatives. Also, the Head Coach, Proffesor Luciano Fernandez, is of the opinion that we are going in the good direction with Futbol de Salon, or Court
Soccer, or FUTSAL, as it is called internationally. "At last we found some dynamic people here in the USA that has this sport at heart and are willing to go all the way to put this
sport in the positive spotlight again."

MADRID 7-14-98

On a interview question to Javier Lozano National coach of Spain in the year 1998 why he recommends Futsal for Youth Players In answer to your questions, I started playing Futsal in 1982.
My teams were Toledo (five seasons), Algon (one season), Marsanz (one season), and Cajatoledo (two seasons). I played my last game on 7 July, 1991.
When I was a player, I trained younger players, but I began as a professional coach on 15 August 1991. The last team where I played was my first team as a professional coach. I became national coach in January, 1992.
"In Spain, actually, all soccer players under 25 have practiced Futsal in schools and and have played in youth championships.

My advice for youth soccer coaches is for them to work toward developing the following qualities that can be derived from Futsal:

* Play in reduced spaces with the smaller, Futsal ball because this adapts well to the smaller size of the youth players.

* The use of five players on the smaller playing area ensures that the players participate more, and it accelerates their acquisition of technique.

* Playing in reduced space develops creativity.

* Playing very close the their opponents in the small area accustoms the players to think and makes decisions very rapidly.

* The small playing area and close proximity of opponents causes the players to learn to move without the ball in order to create free space.

* Participation of substitutes is very dynamic and has special importance.

Brazilian players are good in individual technique, specifically in their speed in the execution of technique. It's easier for them, because of the social characteristics of their environment, they have much more time to practice with the ball at a very early age.
Another detail in the Brazilians' favor is that Futsal has been played in their country for the past 50 years.

In Brazil, all of the outdoor players have played Futsal.

The why and how Court-Soccer was invented.
by Raul Mulattieri

Court Soccer was created and developed in 1930 in Uruguay by Physical Education Professor Juan Carlos Ceriani. After the first World Cup of Soccer in Uruguay for the trophy “Jules
Rimet”, Professor Ceriani concluded, that in order for Uruguay to win the next World Cup, the players needed more agility and faster thinking, that was where the other teams showed superiority, they were much faster than the Uruguayans.
In order to increase the agility of Uruguayan players, Professor Ceriani taught of making the players play in a more reduced space, so they forced to move and think faster.
Court-Soccer, came alive when he put his theory in practice on a basketball court at the YMCA in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay were he earned his living as a Professor of Physical Education. Since it was played in a enclosed space it was called Futbol de salon or free translated ,room or court soccer.
That new modality of playing soccer immediately spread to the  neighboring countries, Argentina World’s Vice-Champion, Paraguay and Brazil.
The “Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol de Salón” or the Futsal Federation of South-America was created in Paraguay’s capital Asuncion.
The FIFUSA was created the Federacao International de Futebol de Salao, the original governing body for Futsal in the world.
In Madrid 1985 the name fufbol de salon and all other names the game was called was changed officially and internationally into FUTSAL.
In December 2002 again in Asuncion, Paraguay the Futsal affiliates from the whole planet united under the flag of a proud Confederación Panamericana de Fútbol de Salón
(PANAFUTSAL) and FIFUSA was disolved because of non- ethical behavior from mostly European members.
The AMF (Asociacion Mundial de Futsal) was formed during this same convention and the USA united as a affiliate member with the Tampa Soccer Academy as the official  representatives. A year later the TSA united with the Soccer Consultant & Management and formed the Tampa Soccer & Futsal Academy which released their representation with permission of the AMF to the US Court Soccer Federation which is now the official  representative of the AMF in the USA Luciano Fernandez better known as “El Profe” is the
Technical-Director and President of the US Court Soccer Federation in the USA.
In 1963 Coach Luciano Fernandez, a professional soccer player at that time, became acquainted with the game in Paraguay.
